EnsiliTech® Showcases Breakthrough Biopreservation Technology as Royal Society of Chemistry Change Maker

Bristol, 17 June 2025EnsiliTech, a biotechnology company addressing the global challenge of cold chain dependency, was featured as a Deep Tech Change Maker by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) at ChemUK 2025, the UK’s leading chemical and laboratory science exhibition.

The RSC’s Change Makers event, entitled "Shining a Light on Deep Tech Chemistry and the Innovation Journey", brought together chemistry-led startups, mentors, advisors, and impact investors to support and accelerate entrepreneurship in deep tech. As one of the featured ventures, EnsiliTech’s co-founder and CEO, Dr Asel Sartbaeva, presented the company’s Ensilication® technology — a patented method that uses silica to stabilise temperature-sensitive biologics such as vaccines, enzymes, and therapeutic proteins, allowing them to be stored and transported without refrigeration.

The event not only showcased groundbreaking innovations but also facilitated discussion on the startup journey, highlighting common challenges and opportunities in translating fundamental chemistry into commercial impact.

To accompany the event, a dedicated case study on EnsiliTech was published by the RSC, exploring the company’s evolution from academic research to scalable deep tech innovation. The case study highlights the scientific foundations of ensilication, its potential to revolutionise pharmaceutical supply chains, and role in supporting more resilient and equitable global healthcare.
